Bad Apples, The Autumn People
review by dave heaton
Sometimes I read over the chicken-scratch notes I make about an album and am tempted to just let them stand as the review. Disjointed and illegible as they are, they more or less say it all. So here we go. My notes on Bad Apples’ rather brilliant album The Autumn People:
Dreamy hazy. Simple sentiments. We love, we go to the zoo. Charming boy with evil heart. Sun and moon, art exhibit, playtime. Fables. Dream-pop children’s books. Synths, melodies, hush, guitar waves, harmonies. Galaxie 500 surreal. “Hey Doctor”, track 10: taken a music pill, under doctor’s spell.
