My 5 Favorite Films of 2007

by dave heaton

The more film criticism I read (and there's a lot of it around these days), the more I think, "How do these people have enough time to see that many movies?". Unless they're getting paid to do it full-time, which would be a dream. Every year lately I find it hard to keep up even with just the movies I want to see, not to mention the movies I don't know that I should see. I did see a bunch of enjoyable movies this year. And I figure that I saw 5 films that deserve to be called the "best", films I really loved, through and through. But now I'm wondering how all those people that see so many films ever find the time to write about them too. I can barely muster up the energy to write anything about these 5. I figure that's OK though, right, because people are writing about movies all over the place, all the time now, right? One of them is bound to express how I feel about these...or maybe not.

2. There Will Be Blood
